Midyat ve çevresinde sihir ve büyü uygulamaları

Abstract

Geçmişi ilkel dönemlere ve antik dinlere kadar uzanan sihir ve büyü tarih boyunca bütün toplumlarda farklı düzeylerde etkisini korumuştur. Kutsal kitaplar, yazınsal metinler, arkeolojik kazılar, mağara resimleri vb. tetkik edildiğinde bu etkinin; eğitim, din, bilim ve teknolojinin gelişmediği eski çağlarda birey ve toplumların hayatlarında her şeyin üstünde bir ehemmiyete sahip olduğu anlaşılmaktadır. Günümüzde ise eğitim, bilim ve teknolojideki gelişmelerin gizemli dediğimiz anlaşılması zor bazı olaylara açıklık getirmesi ve kaynağı tek tanrı olduğuna inanılan semavi dinlerin açıklayıcı ve yol gösterici bilgileri sayesinde bu etki eskiye nazaran gerilemiştir. İnsanların bilinmeyene karşı merakı, büyünün içerisindeki sırlar, tabiata üstün gelme arzusu gibi nedenlerden dolayı büyü, doğumdan ölüme kadar toplumun her bireyini büyüsel uygulamalara itmektedir. Midyat'ta yaptığımız saha çalışmaları ve bu çalışmalardan elde ettiğimiz veriler, büyünün hala farklı ad ve uygulamalarla Midyat'ın gündelik yaşamının bir parçası olduğu ve varlığını canlı bir şekilde devam ettirdiğini göstermektedir. Çalışmamızın temel amacı, binlerce yıllık geçmişi olan ve hala dünyanın her yerinde popülerliğini koruyan sihir ve büyünün Midyat ve çevresinde yapılan büyü ve büyünün uygulama yöntemlerini ortaya koymaktır. Çalışmamızda ayrıca büyüsel kavramların tarihsel sürecine de yer verilmiştir.

Sorcery and magic, with a history, dating back to pritimitive people and ancient religions, have always bean more or less effective in all societies throughout history. When sacred boks, literary texts, archaeological excavations, cave paintings were examined, it was seen that this effect had an importance above everything else in the lives of people and communities in ancient times when education, religion, science and technology didin't develop. But today, this effect, when compared to past, has declined as the developments in education, science and technology have clanfied some inexplicable events that we call mysterious and ot the same time, with the help of exploratory and directive knowledge of divine religions wnich are believed to see god as the sole source. Hawever, the field studies we conducted and the data we abtained from these studies show that sorcery and magic cantinue to exist with different names and applications. The fact that the subject of sorcery and magic, which is as old as the history of humanity, engage the attention of many scientist even today and people from all walks of life, who are knowledgeable, uninformed, rich or poor, resort sorcery and magic with different goals and thoughts have led us to work on this subject. The main purpose of our study is to reveal the applicationu and functions of sorcery and magic, which has a history of thousands of years and stil maintains its popularity all over the world, performed in Midyat and its surrounding. In our study, we also included the word meanings of sorcery and magic, definitions of sorcery and magic, types of magic, the history of sorcery and magic, ways of magic and protection from magic, and explanations of termis related to sorcery and magic.
