Cinema has replaced every story. This study tries to reveal the filmographies of Turkish directors living abroad in the contemporary Turkish cinema period. This study is important in that it tries to reveal how socio-cultural and economic events experienced on a global basis are reflected in the director's cinemas. The directors in question are names that are affiliated with both Turkish culture and the culture of the country they live in, so what they reflect in their films is important not only in terms of the culture in which they live and grow up, but also in terms of the culture they carry in their genes. The starting point of the study is how the directors try to express themselves in terms of narrative features and the subject covered. In this context, five Turkish directors who have lived and are living abroad were selected by purposive sampling method, and their films were analyzed using the qualitative case study method. As a result, directors reflected their feelings, thoughts, dreams, and the realities in their films. © 2024, IGI Global. All rights reserved.en_US
