Almanca-Türkçe iki dilli hikâye kitaplarının çeşitli açılardan incelenmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Almanca-Türkçe iki dilli hikâye kitaplarında yer alan kültürel unsurlar, dilsel seviyeler, şekilsel özellikler ve etkinliklerin hedef kitleye uygunluk açısından değerlendirmektir. Çalışmada ayrıca iki dillilik esasına göre hazırlanmış bu kitapların içerik ve tasarım özellikleri açısından ne ölçüde yeterli oldukları belirlenmiş, yayınevleri ve materyal geliştiricilere yönelik öneriler sunulmuştur. Araştırma, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışmasıyla yürütülmüştür. İnceleme nesnesini Almanca-Türkçe "Domuz Çobanı", "Çaydanlık", "Kervan", "Çakmak", "İmparator'un Yeni Giysileri" ve "Eskizler: Kedinin Firarı ve 20 Kısa Öykü" adlı kitaplar oluşturmuştur. Bu çalışmada veriler doküman taraması modeliyle toplanmış ve betimsel analiz yöntemi kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir. Veriler, Diller İçin Avrupa Ortak Öneriler Çerçevesi (CEFR) temel alınarak hem "Sosyokültürel Bilgiler" hem de "Ortak Başvuru Seviyeleri" başlıkları kapsamında analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmadaki şekilsel özellikler ve etkinliklerin incelenmesi için araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan 2 boyutlu bir form kullanılmıştır. Bu form kontrol listesi şeklindedir. Şekilsel özelliklerin uygunluğunu belirlemek amacıyla 18 ölçütten oluşan "Şekilsel Özellikleri İnceleme Ölçeği", etkinliklerin dağılımını incelemek amacıyla 8 soruluk "Etkinlik Dağılım Kontrol Listesi" uygulanmıştır. Her iki araç da uzman görüşleri doğrultusunda son hâline getirilerek kullanıma sunulmuştur. Analiz sonuçları uzman görüşleriyle karşılaştırılmış, verilerin güvenirliği Miles ve Huberman (1994) formülüyle test edilmiştir. Kodlayıcılar arası uyum oranı %85 olarak belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgulara göre, Almanca-Türkçe iki dilli hikâye kitapları kültürel açıdan zengin içerikler sunmaktadır, toplamda 928 kültürel unsur tespit edilmiştir. Ancak dil seviyelerinin genellikle B2–C1 düzeyinde olduğu belirlenmiştir. Kitaplar teknik açıdan yeterli olsa da içindekiler, önsöz gibi bölümlerin eksikliği ve görsel unsurların yetersizliği dikkat çekmiştir. Etkinliklerin çoğunlukla yapı odaklı ve yalnızca Almanca diline yönelik olması, kitapların işlevsel iki dillilikten uzak olduğunu göstermektedir. Sonuç olarak, kitapların kültürel açıdan zengin içeriklere sahip olduğu, ancak dilsel seviye, etkinlik tasarımı ve görsel tasarım açısından geliştirmeye açık yönlerinin bulunduğu tespit edilmiştir.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the cultural elements, linguistic levels, stylistic features, and suitability of activities in German-Turkish bilingual storybooks for the target audience. The study also determines the adequacy of these bilingual books in terms of content and design features, and offers suggestions for publishers and material developers. The research was conducted using a case study, a qualitative research method. The subject of the study consists of the German-Turkish books "The Pig Herder", "The Teapot", "The Caravan", "The Lighter", "The Emperor's New Clothes", and "Sketches: The Cat's Escape and 20 Short Stories". Data was collected using a document analysis model and analyzed using descriptive analysis. The data was analyzed under both the headings of "Sociocultural Information" and "Common Reference Levels", based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). A 2-dimensional form prepared by the researcher was used to examine the stylistic features and activities in the study. This form is in the form of a checklist. To determine the suitability of morphological features, an 18-criterion "Morphological Features Assessment Scale" was used, and an 8-item "Activity Distribution Checklist" was used to examine the distribution of activities. Both tools were finalized based on expert opinions and made available for use. The analysis results were compared with expert opinions, and the reliability of the data was tested using the Miles and Huberman (1994) formula. The inter-coder agreement rate was determined to be 85%. According to the findings, the German-Turkish bilingual storybooks offer culturally rich content, with a total of 928 cultural elements identified. However, the language levels were generally found to be B2–C1. While the books are technically adequate, the lack of sections such as the table of contents and preface, and the inadequacy of visual elements were noteworthy. The fact that most activities are structure-oriented and only focused on the German language indicates that the books are far from functional bilingualism. In conclusion, it was determined that the books have culturally rich content, but there are areas for improvement in terms of linguistic level, activity design, and visual design.
