Research Ethic in Social Sciences

Abstract

Science is a systematic process of exploring the unknown through thought, experiments, and investigation. Scientific research, which involves identifying and analyzing a problem using scientific methods, requires researchers to adhere to specific ethical standards. This study aims to provide insights into research ethics in the social sciences. To achieve this goal, national and international literature was reviewed, and relevant sections were structured. The document analysis method, one of the qualitative research methods, was employed in this study. Data were obtained by examining existing documents written by other individuals or institutions on the subject. In this context, first of all, the concepts of ethics and science ethics are explained and information about the history of science ethics is provided. Then, the ethical rules to be followed regarding the participants, the research process and the results, the researchers, the authors, the publication and the evaluation of the research were explained. At the end of the study, some suggestions were presented for solving problems related to scientific ethics in social sciences.

Bilim, düsünce ve deneyler ile merak edilen bilinmezlikleri sistematik biçimde arastirma sürecidir. Bir problemin ortaya konularak bilimsel yöntemlerle incelenmesi ve degerlendirilmesi sürecini ifade eden bilimsel arastirmada bilim insanlarinin belirli kurallara uymasi gerekmektedir. Bu çalismanin amaci sosyal bilimlerde arastirma etigi hakkinda bilgi sunmaktir. Bu amaç dogrultusunda ulusal ve uluslararasi literatür taranmis ve bölümler olusturulmustur. Arastirmada nitel arastirma yöntemlerinden doküman analizi yöntemi kullanilmistir. Bu baglamda var olan, arastirma konusu hakkinda diger kisi ya da kurumlar tarafindan yazilmis belgeler incelenerek veriler elde edilmistir. Bu baglamda öncelikle etik ve bilim etigi kavramlari açiklanarak bilim etiginin tarihçesi hakkinda bilgi verilmistir. Sonrasinda bilimsel arastirmalarda katilimcilar, arastirma süreci ve sonucu, arastirmacilarla ilgili, yazarlarla ilgili, yayinla ve arastirmalarin degerlendirilesiyle ilgili uyulmasi gereken etik kurallar açiklanmistir. Çalismanin sonunda sosyal bilimlerde bilimsel etikle ilgili sorunlarin çözümü için bazi öneriler sunulmustur.
