Mustafa Şekip Tunç ve Türk felsefesindeki yeri

Abstract

Mustafa Şekip Tunç (1883-1958) Cumhuriyet ve modernleşme dönemi Türk felsefesinin önemli isimlerinden biridir. Felsefeci, ruhiyatçı, sanatçı, münekkit ve cemiyet adamı kişiliği ile tanınan Tunç Türkiye'de Bergsonculuğun temsilcisi olarak kabul edilir. İstanbul Darülfünunu ve Üniversite'de 30 yıldan fazla ruhiyat kürsüsünün başında bulunmuş, akademik görevleri ve felsefi faaliyetleri sırasında telif ve tercüme çok sayıda eser vermiş, makale, konuşma ve konferansları, cemiyet ve dernek faaliyetleri ile bir neslin fikir ve ruh terbiyesine doğrudan tesir etmiştir. 1920'li yılların başından itibaren Bergson felsefesini akademik düzeyde Türk fikir hayatına tanıtmış, bu sistemden hareketle Türk toplumunun sosyal, siyasi ve kültürel meselelerine çözümler aramıştır. Bu çalışmada ilkin M. Ş. Tunç'un hayatı, ilmi ve fikri şahsiyeti ve eserlerine yer verilecek daha sonra onun Türk felsefesindeki yeri incelenecektir.

ABSTRACT Mustafa Şekip Tunç is one of the most important names of Turkish philosophy in Republic and modernization period . Tunç who is evaluated as philosopher, psychologist, artist, critic, social personality, is representative of Bergson philosophy in Turkey. He has been as a chairman of İstanbul University's psychology department around thirty years and has written and translated a lot of books, during his academic and philosophical activity, so that he has affected a generation's thought and soul education. Beginning from 1920's, he has introduced the Bergson philosophy to Turkish Philosophy. From this Point of view, he has tried to solve the social, political and cultural problems of Turkish society. Firstly, in this article, the life of M.Ş.Tunç, his academic and intellectual personality, and his Works are taken up and later his place in Turkish philosophy is examined.
