Özet

Solketal is a chemical that occurs during biodiesel production and is produced as a result of the reaction of glycerin with acetone. Petrol jet engine technology with turbocharged direct-injection spark-ignition (TSI) is the preferred technology of engine manufacturers in recent years. This work consists of two phases. A complete analysis of the fuel characteristics of 5% (G95S5), 10% (G90S10) and 20% (G80S20) solketal addition to gasoline was made in the first phase. In the second part, the effects of fuel mixtures on performance and emissions were examined by using TSI engine vehicles. Vehicles for this purpose 5(th) it was run at 2000 rpm, 2500 rpm, 3000 rpm and 3500 rpm engine speeds in gear (1:1 gear ratio). In these conditions, the vehicle reached speeds of approximately 85 km/h, 105 km/h, 125 km/h and 145 km/h. With the G90S10 fuel mixture, a 9.6% decrease in engine power and 8.5% decrease in engine torque was observed. It was determined that there was a 13.2% increase in brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC). Brake thermal efficiency (BTE) fell by 2.1%. Nitrous oxide (NOx) and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions have tended to increase while carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbon (HC) emissions have declined.
