Bir Talebenin Hocasına Eleştirileri: İmâmü'l-Harameyn el-Cüveynî- Ebu'l-Kâsım el-Fûranî Örneği

Abstract

In the Islamic science tradition, the relationship between teacher and student is based on deep respect. This respect has shown itself in all areas of life, especially in the circle of lessons. However, some students did not hesitate to criticize their teachers within the framework of respect and loyalty. Criticized teachers also met these criticisms with maturity. This kind of criticism between teacher and student has been seen as a decadence in the Islamic science tradition. On the one hand, while the culture of criticism develops, on the other hand, the morality of tolerance has settled among the scholars. A rich literature has emerged with the writing of criticism and answers. A good example of the culture of criticism mentioned was experienced between Imam al-Harameyn al-Juwaynî (d. 478/1085) and his teacher Ebu'l-Kasim al-Fûrânî (d. 461/1068). In this study, as a student, Cüveynî's criticism of his teacher Furânî will be outlined, and the method and nature of his criticism will be emphasized.

İslâm ilim geleneğinde hoca-talebe ilişkisi derin bir saygı üzerine kuruludur. Bu saygı, başta ders halkasında olmak üzere hayatın her alanında kendisini göstermiştir. Bununla birlikte bazı talebeler, yeri geldiğinde saygı ve vefa çerçevesinde hocalarını eleştirmekten geri durmamıştır. Eleştirilen hocalar da bu eleştirileri olgunlukla karşılamışlardır. Hoca-talebe arasındaki bu tarz eleştiriler, İslâm ilim geleneğinde bir ongunluk olarak görülmüştür. Bir yandan eleştiri kültürü gelişirken diğer yandan ilim erbabı arasında tahammül ahlakı yerleşmiştir. Eleştiri ve cevapların yazılmasıyla da zengin bir literatür meydana gelmiştir. Bahsedilen eleştiri kültürünün güzel bir örneği de İmâmü’l-Harameyn el-Cüveynî (ö. 478/1085) ile hocası Ebü’l-Kâsım el-Fûrânî (ö. 461/1068) arasında yaşanmıştır. Bu çalışmada bir talebe olarak Cüveynî’nin, hocası Furânî’ye yaptığı eleştirilerden bahsedilecek, yaptığı eleştirinin yöntem ve keyfiyeti üzerinde durulacaktır.
