MÜLTECİLİK TEMALI ÇOCUK EDEBİYATI ÜRÜNLERİNİN 7. SINIF TÜRKÇE DERSLERİNDE ÖĞRENCİLERİN MÜLTECİLERE YÖNELİK TUTUMLARINA ETKİSİ

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, mültecilik temalı çocuk edebiyatı ürünlerinin 7. sınıf Türkçe derslerinde öğrencilerin mültecilere yönelik tutumlarına etkisini incelemektir. Araştırmada problem durumunu farklı bakış açılarına imkân sağlayacak şekilde ele almak için karma yöntem kullanılmıştır. Bu çerçevede ön test-son test eşitlenmemiş kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen ile açıklayıcı durum çalışmasına başvurulmuştur. Çalışmanın hedef evrenini ortaokul 7. sınıf öğrencileri, örneklemini ise Muş il merkezinde bulunan Yavuz Selim Ortaokulu ve Farabi İmam Hatip Ortaokulunda deney ve kontrol grubu olarak belirlenen 7. sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma, gruplara Mülteci Öğrencilere Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği (MÖYTÖ) ve yazılı görüş alma formunun uygulanması; deney grubunda mültecilik temalı çocuk edebiyatı ürünlerine yönelik 8 haftalık etkinliklerin işlenmesi ve yarı yapılandırılmış gözlem formlarının tutulması şeklinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın nicel verileri bir paket programı, nitel verileri ise betimsel analiz tekniği ile çözümlenmiştir. Deney grubunda ön test ve son test MÖYTÖ toplam puan ortalamaları arasındaki farkın istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğu, kontrol grubunda ise anlamlı olmadığı saptanmıştır. Deney grubunun uygulama öncesi ve sonrasındaki yazılı görüş alma formları arasında mültecilik temalı 12 hedef değerden 6’sında olumlu yönde bir farklılık, 6’sında bir farklılığın gerçekleşmediği tespit edilmiştir. Kontrol gurubunda bu değerlerden 1’i olumlu, 1’i olumsuz yönde değişmiş, 10’u ise bir değişime uğramamıştır. Yapılan gözlem sonuçlarına göre de deney grubunda mültecilere yönelik tutumlarda bir gelişim durumu izlenmiştir. Araştırmada hem nicel hem de nitel veriler doğrultusunda, mültecilik temalı çocuk edebiyatı ürünlerinin 7. sınıf Türkçe derslerinde öğrencilerin mültecilere yönelik tutumlarına olumlu yönde etki gösterdiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştırThe aim of this study is to investigate the effects of refugee-themed children’s literature works on students’ attitudes towards refugees in 7th grade Turkish lessons. In the research, mixed method was used to deal with the problem situation in a way that would allow different perspectives. In this context, explanatory case study was applied with a semi-experimental pattern with pretest-posttest unsynchronized control group. The target population of the study is 7th grade students in the secondary school, and the sample is 7th grade students determined as experimental and control groups from Yavuz Selim Secondary School and Farabi Imam Hatip Secondary School in the city center of Muş. The research carried out by application of the Attitude Scale for Refugee Students (ASRS) and Written Opinion Form to the groups; in the experimental group, it was carried out in the form of processing 8-week activities for refugee-themed children’s literature products and keeping semi-structured observation forms. In the research, quantitative data were analyzed with a package program, and qualitative data were analyzed with descriptive analysis technique. In the experimental group, the difference between the pretest and the posttest ASRS total score averages was found to be statistically significant and not in the control group. It was determined that there was no positive difference in 6 of the 12 refugee-themed target values and no differences in 6 among the experimental group’s written opinion forms before and after the application. In the control group, one of these values changed positively, one of them changed negatively and ten of them did not change. According to the results of the observations, an improvement in the attitudes towards refugees was observed in the experimental group. In line with both quantitative and qualitative data, it was concluded that products of refugee-themed children’s literature had a positive effect on students’ attitudes towards refugees in 7th grade Turkish lessons.
