Ortaokul Öğrencilerinin Bilgilendirici Metin Yazma Becerilerinin İncelenmesi

Abstract

Theaim of the present study is to identify informative(expository) text writing levels of secondary school students. Descriptivesurvey model which is a quantitative research model is used in this study. Thestudy group consists of 411 students studying at a secondary school in Ispartain the second semester of 2015-2016 academic year. The students are providedwith topics which they can produce informative texts in different sturucturesand then they are asked to write a text on any of these topics. Student textsare scored via Informative Writing Evaluation Form. Descriptive statistics, theindependent samples t-test, one way ANOVA and Dunnett C test are used for thedata analysis. According to the study results, it is found out that students’informative (expository) writing skills are at an insufficient level. Inaddition, it is revealed that students’ informative (expository) writing skillsdiffer significantly in terms of gender and grade.

Buaraştırmanın amacı ortaokul öğrencilerinin bilgilendirici metin (açıklayıcı)yazma düzeylerini belirlemektir. Araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemlerindenbetimsel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2015-2016eğitim öğretim yılı II. yarıyılında öğrenim gören 411 ortaokul öğrencisioluşturmaktadır. Öğrencilere farklı yapılarda bilgilendirici metinlerüretebilecekleri konular verilerek bu konulardan herhangi biri ile ilgili birmetin yazmaları istenmiştir. Öğrenci metinleri “Bilgilendirici Metin YazmaDeğerlendirme Formu” kullanılarak puanlanmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesindebetimsel istatistik, bağımsız örneklemler t-tesi, tek yönlü varyans analizi veDunnett C testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda öğrencilerin bilgilendirici(açıklayıcı) metin yazma becerilerinin yetersiz düzeyde olduğu tespitedilmiştir. Ayrıca öğrencilerin bilgilendirici (açıklayıcı) yazma becerilerinincinsiyet ve sınıf düzeyine göre de anlamlı farklılık gösterdiği bulunmuştur.
