KURUMLAR VE EVRİM: VEBLEN’DEN HODGSON’A EVRİMCİ İKTİSAT METODOLOJİSİ

Abstract

1980 sonrası dönemde evrimci iktisat yükselişe geçmiş ve ana akım iktisadı değiştirme gücü vurgulanmıştır. Fakat evrimci iktisadın ne olduğuna yönelik disiplin içinde bir anlaşmazlık ve karışıklık mevcuttur. Bu karışıklığa bağlı olarak evrimci iktisat disiplinde altı farklı yaklaşımla ifade edilmektedir. Bu çalışma ise Veblen’e atıfla gelişen ve 1980’lerden günümüze Hodgson tarafından güçlü bir şekilde sürdürülen evrimci-kurumsal iktisatla ilgilidir. Hodgson, iktisadın etkin bir sosyal bilim olabilmesi için Veblen’in düşüncelerini ve Veblen’le bağlantılı Darwinizmi benimsemesi gerektiğini vurgulamaktadır. Bu öneri Veblen’in postDarwinist iktisat önerisini genelleştirilmiş Darwinizm olarak sunmaktadır. Hodgson’ın Veblen’e yaslanarak geliştirdiği genelleştirişmiş Darwinizm önerisi, fizik özelinde başlayan iktisattaki bitmeyen doğa bilimi arayışının heterodoks iktisatta da güçlü bir şekilde karşılık bulduğunu göstermektedir. Burada yapılan veya yapılmak istenen doğacılık temelinde bir sosyal teori inşasıdır. 19. yüzyıl düşünsel kodlarına bir dönüş çağrısıdır. Özelde evrimci düşünce ve genelde de doğacılık düşüncesi 19. yüzyıl düşünsel koşullarına gömülüdür. Dolayısıyla günümüzde evrimci iktisadın yükselişi, bir taraftan 19. yüzyıldakine benzer şekilde hem doğa biliminde hem de sosyal bilim de tek geçerli bilim metodolojisi ve hatta metodoloji olmanın ötesinde ontoloji teklifini içerirken diğer taraftan Batı düşüncesinin doğalcılık ve bilimcilik şeklinde tekrar örgütlendiğini göstermektedir.

In the post-1980 period, evolutionary economics started to rise and its power to change the mainstream economics was emphasized. However, there is a disagreement and confusion on the discipline toward what evolutionary economics is. Due to this confusion, evolutionary economics is expressed in six different approaches in discipline. This study is about evolutionary-institutional economics, which developed in reference to Veblen and which has been strongly maintained by Hodgson since the 1980s. Hodgson emphasizes that for economics to be an effective social science, it must adopt Veblen’s ideas and Darwinism related to Veblen. This proposal presents Veblen’s post-Darwinist economics proposal as generalized Darwinism. Generalized Darwinian proposal developed by Hodgson leaning on Veblen, shows that the nonfinite quest for natural science in economics which started particularly in physics begins with a strong response to heterodox economics. What is done or intended to be done is to construct a social theory on the basis of naturalism. It is a call for return to the 19th century intellectual codes. Evolutionary thought in particular and the ideas of naturalism in general are embedded in 19th century intellectual conditions. Therefore, the rise of evolutionary economics today, is the only valid science methodology, even the ontology in natural science and social science as in the 19th century as well as showing that Western thought is reorganized as naturalism and science.
