Adaptation of the Robot Anxiety Scale into Turkish

Abstract

Robotlarıninsanların hayatında yer alması insan-robot etkileşiminin nasıl sağlanacağınadair endişelere sebep olmaktadır. Bu çalışmada ise Robot Kaygısı ÖlçeğininTürkçe versiyonunun elde edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Üniversite öğrencilerindenelde edilen veriler açıklayıcı faktör analizi ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizi ileincelenmiştir. Ölçekte bulunan 11 madde üç faktöre bölünmüştür. Doğrulayıcıfaktör analizi sonucuna göre modelin uyum indeksi değerleri kabul edilebilirseviyededir. Bu çalışma, elde edilen ölçeğin Türkçe versiyonunun ayırıcıgeçerliliğe sahip olan güvenilir ve geçerli bir ölçüm aracı olmasından ve Türkkültüründe kullanılması planlanan robotların dizaynlarının ve özelliklerinin nederece etkin olabileceğini anlamaya yardım edeceğinden dolayı önemlidir.

The involvement of robots in people's lives causes concerns about howhuman-robot interaction can be achieved. In this study, it is aimed to obtainthe Turkish version of Robot Anxiety Scale. The data obtained from universitystudents were analyzed by explanatory factor analysis and confirmatory factoranalysis. 11 items in the scale were divided into three factors. According tothe confirmatory factor analysis, the fit index values of the model wereacceptable. This study shows that the Turkish version of the scale hasdiscriminant validity, and the scale is a reliable and valid measurement toolthat may help to understand how effective the design and properties of robotsto be used in Turkish culture.
