Köy Postası dergisi 1950-1960

Abstract

Türkiye'nin modernleşme tarihinde köycülük hem demografik bir çoğunluk hem de ideolojik bir inşa sahası olarak merkezi bir rol oynamıştır. Erken Cumhuriyet Dönemi'nin aydınlanmacı ve kültürel dönüşümü hedefleyen idealist köycülük anlayışı, 1950 yılında Demokrat Parti'nin iktidara gelişiyle birlikte yerini pragmatik ve kalkınmacı bir paradigmaya bırakmıştır. Bu çalışma, söz konusu tarihsel kırılmayı, dönemin kırsal gündemini ve taşra aydınının dönüşümünü sayfalarına taşıyan Köy Postası dergisi (1950-1960) ekseninde incelemektedir. Araştırmada, nitel içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılarak dergide yer alan metinler; tarım politikaları, eğitim, göç ve siyasal söylem temaları altında değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışma, Demokrat Parti Dönemi'nde köyün kapalı ekonomik yapısının çözüldüğünü; köylünün "seçmen" ve "tüketici" kimliğiyle sisteme entegre olurken, kültürel aydınlanma hedefinin geri planda kaldığını ortaya koymaktadır. Sonuç olarak bu tez, 1950-1960 arasının sadece siyasi bir iktidar değişimi değil, Türk köycülük düşüncesinde "romantizmden realizme" geçişin yaşandığı sancılı bir modernleşme evresi olduğunu Köy Postası dergisi üzerinden kanıtlamaktadır.

In the history of Turkey's modernization, the peasantry has played a central role both as a demographic majority and as a site of ideological construction. The idealist understanding of peasantism of the Early Republican period, which aimed at enlightenment and cultural transformation, gave way to a pragmatic and developmentalist paradigm with the Democrat Party coming to power in 1950. This study examines this historical rupture, the rural agenda of the period, and the transformation of the provincial intellectual through the lens of Köy Postası magazine (1950-1960), which carried these issues to its pages. In the research, using the qualitative content analysis method, the texts contained in the magazine were evaluated under the themes of agricultural policies, education, migration, and political discourse. The study reveals that during the Democrat Party era, the closed economic structure of the village dissolved; and while the peasant integrated into the system with the identity of "voter" and "consumer," the goal of cultural enlightenment remained in the background. Consequently, this thesis demonstrates through Köy Postası magazine that the period between 1950-1960 was not merely a change of political power, but a painful modernization phase in which a transition from "romanticism to realism" occurred in Turkish peasantist thought.
