The district of Kulp, located within the borders of Diyarbakır province, differs from other regions where Zazaki is spoken due to its geographical location. The Zazaki dialect spoken here serves as a transition zone between the southern and central dialects, with more contact with Kurmanji and Turkish. This situation leads to differences in grammar and speech, which are clearly reflected in language structures.The current study aims to analyze the distribution and function of the Oblique case marker in the Zazaki dialect spoken in Kulp. The data used in this study comprised 788 minutes of spontaneous speech, elicited from native Zazaki speakers aged 25 to 89, drawn from seven different villages in Kulp (Kerikan, Seyrikî, Zêrug, Herta, Text, Arqetîn, Kû). Based on the elicited data, the distribution and function of the oblique case marker are analyzed, with an examination of the areas where Kulp Zazaki exhibits unique characteristics, as well as potential reasons for these differences. The study particularly focuses on the ergative alignment observed in past-tense transitive constructions, identifying any non-standard patterns, and exploring possible causes for these deviations.
