Kıbrıs basınında İşçi Postası Gazetesi 1980-1984 (siyasi, sosyo-kültürel ve ekonomik hayat)

Abstract

Bu tezin amacı Kıbrıs basın tarihinde önemli bir yeri olan ve 1980-1984 yılları arasında yayımlanan İşçi Postası gazetesini değerlendirmektir. Bu bağlamda gazetedeki haberler siyasal, sosyo-kültürel ve ekonomik haberler başlıkları altında tasnif edilmiş ve örnekleriyle ele alınmıştır. Özellikle Kıbrıs'ın devlet olma sürecine kadar yaşadığı sorunların tarihsel arka planının ve sürecin bu gazetede yer almış olması çalışmayı önemli kılmaktadır. Ulaşılan bulguların bu yüzden kayda değer olduğu düşünülmektedir. 21 Mayıs 1980 tarihinde yayın hayatına başlayan gazetenin 26 Nisan 1984 tarihinde 198. sayısı ile yayın hayatı sona ermiştir. Çalışmada, yayımlanan tüm sayılar tek tek incelenmiş, analiz edilmiş ve önceden belirlenen konu başlıklarına göre tasnif edilmiştir. Konu kapsamındaki kimi haberlerden örnekler de doğrudan alıntılanıp örnek olarak verilmiştir. Araştırmada İşçi Postası gazetesinin Kıbrıs basını ve tarihini anlamak için önemli bir kaynak olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bununla beraber gazetenin Kıbrıs'ın devlet olma sürecinde dönemin yerel basını ve toplumu üzerinde etkili olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Gazetede en çok siyasi içerikli haberlerin yer aldığı, bununla beraber işçi hakların konusunda da önemli veriler sunduğu belirlenmiştir. Çalışmanın tüm bu yönleriyle alana katkı sunacağı düşünülmektedir.

The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the newspaper İşçi Postası, which has an important place in the Cyprus press history and was published between 1980-1984. In this context, the news in the newspaper were classified under the headings of political, sociocultural and economic news and discussed with examples. The fact that the historical background and the process of the problems experienced by Cyprus until the process of statehood were covered in this newspaper makes the study important. The findings are therefore considered to be significant. Launched on 21 May 1980, the newspaper ceased to be published on 26 April 1984 with its 198th issue. In this study, all issues of the newspaper were examined and analysed one by one and classified according to predetermined subject headings. Examples of some news items within the scope of the subject are also quoted directly and given as examples. In the research, it was concluded that İşçi Postası newspaper is an important source for understanding the press and history of Cyprus. In addition, it was determined that the newspaper was influential on the local press and society of the period during the process of Cyprus becoming a state. It was determined that the newspaper mostly contained political news, but also provided important data on labour rights. It is thought that the study will contribute to the field with all these aspects.
