Bir Metafor Çalışması: Öğrencilerin Rehberlik Servisine İlişkin Algıları

Abstract

Thisstudy aims to examine the perceptions of the students about the guidanceservice through the metaphor method. Participants of this qualitative studywere 89 high school students. The data obtained through Examination Form ofStudents’ Perceptions Related to Guidance Service in the study were analyzed bycontent analysis. Based on data analysis, students'perceptions related toguidance service were divided in two main themes as positive and negative.Under the positive main theme; it was emphasized that the guidance service washelpful in providing solutions to students’ problems, psychological support andguidance to them. Also, it was determined that the guidance service providedthe necessary counseling services to the students and fulfilled the function ofproviding information. On the other hand, under the negative main theme; it hasbeen determined that some students had a negative perception related toguidance service and guidance service sometimes had a similar attitude withschool administration. Lastly, it was found that guidance service sometimesremain negligent to the students. Buçalışmada, öğrencilerin rehberlik servisine ilişkin algılarının metafor yöntemiile incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Nitel desende gerçekleşen çalışmada 89 liseöğrencisi yer almıştır. Öğrencilerin Rehberlik Servisine İlişkin Algılarınıİnceleme Formu kullanılarak toplanan veriler, içerik analiziyle analizedilmiştir. Analiz sonucunda, öğrencilerin rehberlik servisine ilişkin algılarıpozitif ve negatif olmak üzere iki ana temada toplanmıştır. Pozitif anatemasının altında; rehberlik servisinin öğrenci sorunlarına çözüm üretmede, öğrencilere psikolojik destek sağlamada ve yol göstermede yardımcı olduğubelirlenmiştir. Ayrıca rehberlik servisinin öğrencilere danışmanlık hizmetinisunduğu ve bilgi verme işlevini yerine getirdiği saptanmıştır. Negatif anatemasının altında ise; bazı öğrencilerin rehberlik servisine karşı olumsuz biralgıya sahip oldukları, rehberlik servisinin bazen okul idaresi ile benzer birtutum sergilediği ve bazen de öğrencilere karşı kayıtsız-ilgisiz kaldığıbelirlenmiştir.
