KANSER ETKİNLİĞİNE KATILAN BİREYLERİN KANSERE İLİŞKİN TUTUMLARININ BELİRLENMESİ

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışma toplumun kansere ilişkin tutumunu belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı tipte yürütülen çalışmanın verileri 4 Şubat 2019 Dünya Kanser Günü etkinliğinde toplanmıştır. Çalışmanın evrenini kanser etkinliğine katılan 18 yaş üstü bireyler oluşturmaktadır. Örneklem seçimine gidilmeyerek çalışmaya katılmayı kabul eden 191 hasta ile çalışma gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veriler kişisel bilgi formu ve ‘’Kansere İlişkin Tutum Ölçeği-Toplum Versiyonu’’ kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Veriler sayı, yüzde, ortalama, t testi ve varyans analizi kullanılarak analiz edildi. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılanların yaş ortalaması 37.30±14.21’dir. Ölçek ortalama puanı 3.03±0.52 olup alt boyut puan ortalamaları sırasıyla; iyileşmenin imkansız olması 2.81±0.67 ayrımcılık alt boyutu 3.46±0.65 ve kanser tanısını ortaya çıkarma/yayma alt boyutu ise 2,98±0,86’dır. Yaş arttıkça kansere ilişkin olumsuz tutum artmaktadır (r: -,187; p: 0,01). Sonuç:Çalışmaya katılanların kansere ilişkin tutumları olumsuz olarak bulunmuştur. kanser ve kanser hastalarına yönelik oluşan algı ve tutumların önüne geçmek için toplum tabanlı eğitim ve bilgilendirmeler yapılmalıdır.

Aim: This study was conducted to determine the attitude of the society towards cancer. Method: The data of the descriptive study were collected at the World CancerDay event on February 4, 2019. The universe of the study consists of individuals over the age of 18 who participate in cancer activity. It is aimed to reach the entire universe by not choosing the sample. The data were collected using a personal information form and "Attitude Scale Towards Cancer-CommunityVersion". Data were analyzed using number, percentage, mean, t-test andanalysis of variance. Results: The average age of the participants in the study is 37.30±14.21. The mean score of the scale is 3.03±0.52, and the subscale mean scores are; Impossibility of recovery was 2.81±0.67 discriminationsub-dimension 3.46±0.65 and cancer detection / dissemination sub-dimensionwas 2.98±0.86. As age increases, negative attitude towards cancer increases (r: -,187 p:0.01). Conclusions: Participants in the study found negative attitudes towards cancer. Community-based education and information should be provided to prevent perceptions and attitudes towards cancer and cancer patients.
