21. Yüzyılda Tokat'ın Ekonomik Görünümü: TR83 ve Türkiye Geneli ile Bir Karşılaştırma

Abstract

Thesedays local economy has gained importance with globalization. Local economieshave begun to take up more space as actors in the global economy; localindustrialization, institutions and organizational structures have gainedimportance. In this study, Tokat's economic structure and development processwere analyzed in comparison with TR83 region and country economy. The result ofthe study is that the agriculture sector, where a significant portion of thepopulation is employed in the economic development process of Tokat province, did not provide the expected contribution to the economy despite the highagricultural potential of the province. The province is well below the regionand country average in terms of both Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and othersocio-economic development indicators. This can be regarded as a result of thefact that the transition from agricultural to industrial sector in province hasnot been realized sufficiently.

Günümüzdeküreselleşme karşısında yerel ekonomilerin önemi artmıştır. Yerel ekonomilerküresel ekonomide birer aktör olarak daha fazla yer almaya başlamış; yerelsanayileşme, kurumlar ve organizasyon yapıları önem kazanmıştır. Bu gerçektenhareketle bu çalışmada Tokat’ın ekonomik yapısı ve gelişim süreci TR83 bölge veülke ekonomisi ile karşılaştırılmalı olarak analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmanınsonuçlarına göre Tokat ilinin ekonomik gelişim sürecinde nüfusun önemli birkısmının istihdam edildiği tarım sektörü, ilin tarımsal potansiyelinin yüksekolmasına rağmen ekonomiye beklenen katkıyı sağlayamadığı görülmüştür. İl hemGayri Safi Yurtiçi Hasıla (GSYH) hem de diğer sosyo-ekonomik gelişmişlikgöstergeleri açısından bölge ve ülke ortalamasının oldukça altında kalmıştır.Bu durum, ilde tarımdan sanayiye dönüşümün yeterince gerçekleşmemiş olmasınınbir sonucu olarak değerlendirilebilir.
