Afyon Müzesi'nde Bulunan Roma Dönemi Hekate Grubu Adak Heykelcikleri

Abstract

HekateOlymposlu tanrılar grubunda yer almayan ve kendine ait bir efsaneyibarındırmayan bir tanrıçadır. Hekate Phrygia’da önemli bir tapım yerinesahiptir. Hekate buluntuları bölgedeyerel kutsal alanların varlığını göstermektedir. Heykelcikler için belirlenen tipolojik ve stil özellikleri ile birlikteikonografik değerlendirilmeler ışığında bölgedeki ya da yerleşim yerindekiinanç yapısını ve adak kültürünü belirlemektir. Phrygia Bölgesi’nde yeralan Afyonkarahisar’da bulunan ve bugün Afyon Müzesi’nde sergilenen altı adetHekate heykelinin ikonografik ve stilistik analizi yapılmıştır. Buheykelciklerin; dört adeti Hekate iki adeti Meter Tetraprosopos’tanoluşmaktadır. Afyon Müzesi’nde sergilenen altı adet Hekate heykeli RomaDönemi’ne aittir. Bu heykelcikler nitelik ve kalite açısındandeğerlendirildiğinde Dokimeon atölyesine ait heykelcikler olduğugörülmektedir.

Hecate is a goddess who does not take part inthe group of the Olympian gods and does not have his own legend. Hecate has animportant place of worship in Phrygia. Hecate finds indicate the presence oflocal sanctuaries in the region. In thelight of iconographic evaluations in addition to the typological and stylecharacteristics determined for statuettes, the belief structure and votiveculture in the region or settlement region were identified. Iconographicand stylistic analysis of six Hecate statues in Afyonkarahisar, located in thePhrygia Region, and now on display at the Afyon Museum, was conducted. These statuettes consist of four Hecate andtwo Meter Tetraprosopos. These six Hecate sculptures exhibited at the AfyonMuseum belong to the Roman period. When these statuettes are evaluated in terms of features and quality, it isseen that they are belonging to Dokimeon workshop.
