Öğretmen adaylarının lisansüstü eğitime yönelik görüşleri: Muş Alparslan Üniversitesi örneği

Abstract

Bilgi çağının yaşandığı, bilim ve teknolojinin hızla gelişmeye devam ettiği çağımızda araştıran, sorgulayan, eleştirel ve yaratıcı düşünen, bilgiyi üreten analiz, sentez ve değerlendirme gibi üst düzey düşünme becerilerini kullanabilen bireylere veya öğretmenlere duyulan ihtiyaç her geçen gün fazlasıyla artmaktadır. Bu bağlamda çalışmada öğretmen adaylarının lisansüstü eğitime yönelik düşüncelerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu çalışmada evren “Muş Alparslan Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi Türkçe, Sınıf, Okul Öncesi, İlköğretim Matematik ve Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretmenliği Bölümlerinde 2017-2018 güz yarıyılında öğrenim gören öğrenciler”, örneklem ise “aynı bölümlerde öğrenim gören son sınıf öğrencileri”dir. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen likert tipi “Öğretmen Adaylarının Lisansüstü Eğitime Yönelik Düşünceleri Anketi” kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizi aşamasında frekans ve yüzdelik değerler tablolaştırılarak bulgular elde edilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda dikkat çeken bazı önemli sonuçlar; öğretmen adaylarının çok az kısmının lisansüstü eğitim hakkında yeterli bilgiye sahip olduğu, öğretmen adaylarının büyük kısmının lisansüstü eğitim yapmayı planladıkları ve yine öğretmen adaylarının büyük çoğunluğunun lisansüstü eğitime başlama ve bitirmede aile faktörünün önemli olduğunu belirttikleri yönündedir. Bu sonuçlar temel alınarak lisansüstü eğitim konusunda öğretmen adaylarının bilgilendirilmesine yönelik bazı önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

The demand for individuals or teachers who are able to use high-level thinking skills such as research, inquiry, critical and creative thinking, knowledge-producing analysis, synthesis and evaluation is growing day by day in this age of information where science and technology continue to develop rapidly. In this context, the aim of this study is to determine the views of teacher candidates on graduate education. In line with this purpose, convenience sampling method was conducted. The sample of the study consists of 291 senior students who study at the departments of Preschool Teaching, Primary School Teaching, Elementary School Mathematics Teaching, Social Sciences Teaching and Turkish Teaching at Faculty of Education of Muş Alparslan University, and the population of the study consists of senior students who study at the same departments. A Likert -type survey Questionnaire for “Teacher Candidates' Views on Graduate Education” developed by the researcher was used as data collection tool. In the analysis of the data, frequency and percentage values were tabulated and findings were obtained. Some important results that are noteworthy in the study are; the majority of prospective teachers have enough knowledge about post-graduate education, most of the prospective teachers plan to do post-graduate education, and the majority of the prospective teachers have stated that the family factor is important in starting and finishing post-graduate education. On the basis of these conclusions, some suggestions were put forward to inform teacher candidates on the graduate education
